The A49 Derby was a football rivalry contested between Shrewsbury Town and Hereford United. The name derives from the A49 road that seperates the two towns. The last derby contested was on November 3rd 2012 in an FA Cup tie at Edgar Street which Hereford United won 3-1. Hereford United were subsequently wound up at the High Court in December 2014 and with the phoenix club Hereford F.C. competing in the Southern League Division One South & West, five tiers below Shrewsbury, it is unlikely the tie will be competed in the near future.
