Randi has pursued "psychic" spoonbenders, exposed the dirty tricks of faith healers, investigated homeopathic water "with a memory," and generally been a thorn in the sides of those who try to pull the wool over the public's eyes in the name of the supernatural. [1] Randi is well known for offering a million dollar reward to anyone who can prove paranormal events/abilities under controlled conditions. This prize has never been claimed.

He soon grew disillusioned with his moderate lifestyle, and so decided to turn his back on the magical community. Randi henceforth made a living by exposing the methods of other so-called 'magicians' and proving them to be frauds. He is particularly famous for appearing with claimed 'mystifier' Uri Gellar on the Tonight Show, and demonstrating how Gellar had bent several spoons not with his mind but using a clever combination of sleight of hand

| - Iacobus Randi (natus Randall James Hamilton Zwinge 7 Augusti 1928) estas magus scaenicus et scepticus scientificus Canadiano-Americanus, ut provocator postulationum paranormalium et scientiae falsae notissimus. Randi, conditor Societatis Fundatae Educationalis Iacobi Randi, magus Admirabilis Randi appellatus curriculum vitae professionalis coepit, sed a rebus publicis anno aetatis suae sexagensimo remotus, plurimum temporis in investigandis postulationibus paranormalibus, occultis, et supernaturalibus degit, quas omnes woo-woo appellare solet. Randi, quamquam saepe debunker appellatus, connotationes nominis haud multum amat, seque investigatorem describere mavult. Scripsit de rebus paranormalibus, scepticismo, et historio magiae. Saepe fuit hospes in The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, atque aliquando in Penn & Teller: Bullshit!, programmate televisifico apparuit. Sua societas condita One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge sustinet, praemium CFA$1 000 000 petitionibus opportunis offerens, eis qui indicia ullarum virium vel eventus paranormalium, supernaturalium, vel occultarum, sub condicionibus inquisitionis ab ambabus partibus adsensis monstrare possunt.

The Randi organisation also challenge prominent figures claiming supernatural or paranormal power by name and give them 6 months to respond to the challenge. All this is published prominently. If the challenged individuals don't respond to the challenge the public can draw their own conclusions about how confident these individuals are about their supposed gifts. This website follows Humanist morality and sincerely hopes Randi will do all in his power to prevent sexual harassment of women in organisations he runs. There are allegations this hasn't consistently happened.
