| - Richard Hale was an agent for an unknown organization leading what has been termed the "amulet task force". Along with Daniel Snow and anthropologist Charlie Lake, they attempted to gain access to the amulets, for unknown reasons. The group presumably arrived in Valley Lodge on June 23, 2004, when an unnamed Agent approached Stacy at a diner and demanded he bring them the amulet, which they believed was currently in Ben Killian's possession. The Agent seemed aware of Stacy's earlier conversation with Ben about the amulet, as well as being familiar with Stacy's past. The Agent offered Stacy $1.5 million to retrieve the amulet, which caused Stacy to blurt out that Daisy had the amulet, not Ben. This was the agent's real intention, and he passed the information on to Hale's team. The next morning, Hale, Snow, and Lake kidnapped Daisy moment's after she had hidden the amulet and demanded she tell them the location of the amulet. Lake attempted to be friendly with Daisy, but Hale seemed businesslike and curt. He seemed to know what had happened to Daisy's parents but was unwilling to discuss it. Shortly thereafter, Hale and his men found Ben and Stacy in a cornfield and demanded that Ben lead them to The Master, as they now believed that he possessed the amulet. Ben led Stacy, Daisy, Hale, Lake, and Snow to the barn where James (in Roland's form) was living. Hale told Lake to take "this fatass" across the road and shoot Ben or Daisy if they attempted to leave. He and Snow then attempted to enter the barn. Michael met them and tried to dissuade them from entering. However, Hale calmly introduced himself and insisted they wanted to "speak with your Master." Michael reluctantly let them in. Hale snuck up behind James (who was in Roland's form), who was busy taunting a hiding Anita. Hale introduced himself to James and sarcastically commented him on his "nice robe". James replied that it was nice to meet Hale, and complimented him on the "nice pole through [his] chest." Michael that impaled Hale on a wooden pole, bisecting his spinal cord and rupturing his heart. Hale was instantly paralyzed and fell to the ground, where he suffocated in his own blood. Snow was killed in a similar way by Blanche. She later dragged Hale and Snow's bodies outside. Lake, the sole survivor of the incident found Hale's body later that day.
