During detention, Peter notices science teacher Natalie Osborn putting something down in the boiler room, then she leaves. Peter sneaks into the boiler room and sees a weird plastic box labeled "Osborn". He opens it and sees several other boxes, with strange labels. Peter opens one labeled "Subject 15", but there are several glowing spiders in there. One bites Peter, and Peter quickly closes the box and runs back into the detention room. In the detention room, he eventually passes out, but is woken by Mr. Octavius, the robotics teacher, later on.

He also discovers that he can climb on walls and shoot webs. Peter is amazed.
