The Bijuu inside the jinchūriki loses consciousness, and is forced to descend into the far corners of the jinchūriki's mind. Itachi states that this technique is quite odd, considering that the Sharingan of this era only had a connection with the Nine Tails, and could only suppress the Nine Tails' chakra. However, Shiori had shown use of this technique that is unique to her, to suppress the Ten tails within Tora, and the Four tails within Ryun. Itachi comments that Shiori's Sharingan would have to be one born earlier than even Madara's own.
