When Lord Earth attacked Earth and Zordon's team of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, he destroyed the Rangers' Dinozords. Zordon sent the Rangers after the Thunder Crystals and the new Thunderzords, both created by Che-Lonii the ancient Tor Ranger eons ago. However after the arrival of Zedd's brother-in-law Rito, the Thunderzords were destroyed. Tor Ranger awakened from a thousand year hibernation and felt the presence of his Zord (Tor the Shuttlezord which he entrusted to Zordon) on Earth, but not the Thunderzords he had created. Worried he transported to Earth and revived the legendary Thunder Crystals, the power source of the Thunderzords, to repair them.
