The Californian Crocodile is one of the only indigenous Western USA crocodilians, along with Western alligators, being found in most of the Western USA, including California (hence their name). It resembles a Nile crocodile, but is browner in color and is about the size of a sub-adult saltwater crocodile. Like most crocodilians, Californian crocodiles are carnivores.
