| - Skrill is a minor antagonist in the episodes of Defenders of Berk, A View to a Skrill Part I and A View to a Skrill Part II untill reforms in the episodes of Race to the Edge, A Time To Skrill. The Skrill was found and honored by the berserkers. The dragon riders soon learned about it's whereabouts from Mulch and Bucket, and took the frozen Skrill back to Berk, so that they can learn about it.

- Originally, they were an sentient alien species that were encountered by the Companions at some point in the distant past. This initial contact was a disaster and the Skrills attacked the Taelons. Despite their destructive power, the Skrills were eventually enslaved and taken aboard the Taelon mothership. When the race arrived on the planet Earth, these early Alpha strain Skrill were given to Human bio-engineers in order to turn them into a weapon. Using Taelon genetic engineering, they were able to turn the species into a breed of weapon symbiotes and managed to develop the more docile Gamma breed of Skrill for Companion agents. - Skrills are sentient, and intelligent alien life forms bred by the Taelons to be used as weapons. Only an "Implant" with a CVI can control a Skrill. Da'an called Skrills "peace-keeper[s]…a tool to quell a storm" ("Scorpions Dream"). Skrills are usually bonded to their hosts for life but they can be removed with some significant danger to both Skrill and host. For example, when James Pike stole Ronald Sandoval's Skrill, Sandoval needed serious medical treatment but the Skrill was eventually recovered and both it and Sandoval survived ("Avatar").
- It is written under the strike class for its ability to ride lightning bolts like air torpedos, intelligence, and jaw strength. This elusive dragon has large wings, a spiked back and tail, and a large mouth. The spikes on the Skrill's back and tail are sharp enough to cut with the slightest abrasion, and it is an excellent flyer. It apparently resembles a Night Fury in flight and rivals its speed, being slightly slower. Like the Monstrous Nightmare, its locomotion on land resembles that of a pterosaur, using the large claws on its wings to walk and run on land.
