He played junior hockey for Glebe Collegiate, Ottawa Jr. Senators, and the Guelph Indians from 1935 to 1939. In 1939-40 Kuntz played for the Washington Eagles and in 1940-41 for the Philadelphia Ramblers. In 1941-42 Kuntz got a 31 game look in the NHL with the New York Rangers. He scored 10 goals and 11 assists min 31 games. He didn't get back in the NHL until 1945-46, when he played 14 games for the Rangers and scored just one assist. That marked the end of his NHL career.
