The Nitro Scorcher is a an original Hot Wheels casting based on a concept Formula 1 car, debuting in the 2007 New Models. This formula car has a metal base. Initially this car was released in red under the name "Ferracin." It said "Ferracin" on the card and on the base of the car. It's rumored that there may have been some dispute with Ferrari or Formula 1 Racing about this model and Mattel changed the name of the car to Nitro Scorcher. Mattel even went so far as to remove the "1" tampo from the hood of this car, which is quite odd, since they haven't changed the tampos for any of the first edition color repaints this year.
