Sleeping Beauty is a 1959 animated feature produced by Friz Freleng and originally released on January 29, 1959 by Walt Disney Pictures. The film was directed by Les Clark, Eric Larson, and Chuck Jones, under the supervision of Clyde Geronimi. The script was adapted from the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty by Charles Perrault by Erdman Penner, with additional story work by Joe Rinaldi, Winston Hibler, Bill Peet, Ted Sears, Ralph Wright, and Milt Banta. The film's musical score and songs, featuring the work of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, are adapted from the 1890 Sleeping Beauty ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
