| - Redbeard was a 23rd century Orion individual, an officer in the Orion Colonies' pirate fleet. Captain Redbeard's specialty was as a starship commanding officer. (TOS video game: Starfleet Command) No history or fate is established for this character as the name was randomly selected for a captain by the game software. Redbeard may be named after the Ottoman pirate/privateer brothers ArujAruj or Hayreddin, or for German king Frederick I, all called "Barbarossa", meaning "Redbeard".
- Redbeard, true name Riagon, was the rebel leader against King Freyne. King Einon avenges his father death by killing Redbeard while he was working in the quarry, with an arrow through his heart. He was also the father of Kara.
- Redbeard is a terrifying new threat in the Caribbean. He gets his name from all the blood he shatters. He favors a sledgehammer covered in rattlesnake teeth as his weapon. He is captain of the legendary King George's Revenge. The stories and history is not true, for Redbeard was one of the most terrifying pirate in the seas.
- A cruise always implies long periods of free time, especially those that took place in 50 B.C. If you wonder what was done with that time, you can be sure that René and Albert had no trouble coming up with ideas. In keeping with the usual crew of merrymakers from the Asterix world that we know and love, they entrusted our Jolly Rogers and their captain, Redbeard, with the role of masters of revelry.
- Redbeard is currently an ex-retiree from Puzzle Pirates. He governed Admiral Island until March 11, 2006, at which time he handed the role back to Shodan. He is known for saying what he thinks, which occasionally gets him into a spot of trouble. In April 2010, after over 3 years of dormancy, Redbeard returned once again to Sage. No longer interested in captaincy, royalty or ownership, Redbeard joined up with his old friend Faldrok's crew with the sole aim of pillaging, puzzling and blockading. This lasted some 4 weeks, until Redbeard left the Ocean once again due to personal issues.

He is known for saying what he thinks, which occasionally gets him into a spot of trouble. Recently returned from a self-imposed exile, Redbeard has come back to the Sage Ocean with a goal of creating some waves and chaos in an ocean that he thought was becoming sterile and lifeless, but things happened and he is currently playing as a solo pirate once more. He started up a new flag, Mind Games and took back his crew Forget About It which had been under the superb supervision of Mads since his retirement. Upon going solo again, he returned the crew back to the capable hands of Mads, leaving the game once again shortly after. As at 14th July 2012, Redbeard can be found on the Emerald Ocean from time to time, swordfighting and playing poker, all thoughts of world domination wiped from his mind in favour of a quieter existence. He will always be pleased to chat to anyone about "the good old days", however!
Their mission is to provide entertainment to the enjoyment of all travellers (Romans, Normans, and, of course, Gauls)! Pirates to massacre, what a treat! Well, caricatures of pirates, because Redbeard’s crew is none other than that created by Jean-Michel Charlier and Victor Hubinon for their cartoon strip “Le Démon des Caraïbes”, which was published in Pilote, just like Asterix. Transformed by the feverish imagination of Goscinny and Uderzo, these fearsome Pirates are little more than punching balls, reduced to working as innkeepers or galley slaves to compensate for the lack of any loot that would pay for a new boat! And even if they finally get the chance to get their hands on Chief Whosemoralsarelastix’s sesterces in Asterix and the Cauldron, they spend the rest of their lives undergoing all kinds of trials and tribulations: the (regular!) destruction of their ship, running aground, scuttling, etc. In other words, a series of thrashings that finally dumbfound even Pegleg, leaving him incapable of pronouncing any Latin saying.
