The Kingdom of Canada is smaller than *here*, lacking British Columbia (part of the District of Oregon in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Newfoundland (an independant Kingdom), and the Maritime provinces (part of the Union of New England). The kingdom was established in the 1860's (?) by the British North America Act, which sought to unite several British colonies, although only the Canadas ended up in the Kingdom, the eastern provinces joining the Union of New England. The Kingdom acquired the Hudson Bay Company's territories, and gradually spread westward.
