The Primordials, also known as the Protogonoi (from Gr. Πρωτογόνος - "first-born") is a group of absolute beings created by the Dimensional Lord, Emrys Ambrosius.

Primordials were chaotic beings, made of the basic elements of existence. Fire does not care who or what it burns, so long as it does. Storms rage over land and sea. The earth stands fierce and only changing slowly or in bursts of incredible power. These were the feelings and motives of the Primordials. Whereas the Gods wanted to impose an order upon existence, the Primordials wanted anarchy. This difference of opinion set forth a great war, with powers unlike anything mortal man could comprehend being used. Since time did not truly exist, no beings, mortal, divine, or otherwise, could say how long this war went on. But after what some believe was millions of years, the Gods sealed the Primordials away into a different plane, or perhaps some sort of demiplane attached to the Material Plane. Either way, that area of existence became the Elemental Chaos from the unintentional influence of the Primordials. The servants of the Primordials, the least of which we call Elementals, continued the war against the Gods, weakening them until the point that the Gods removed themselves from the Material Plane and retired to the Astral Plane. These Primordials occasionally stir and send ripples of chaos across reality. One shudders to think of what they could be capable of should they ever break their seals.
