- Roy was a dentist in “The Note”. He was originally named Lloyd, but his name changed to Roy. However, due to someone forgetting to change “Lloyd” to “Roy” in the end credits, the actor who played Roy, Ralph Bruneau, was credited as “Lloyd”. Roy came under investigation for handing out unauthorized notes for free massages. He was found guilty of insurance fraud and slapped with a six-month probation.

- Roy first appeared in the strip from June 11, 1965, where he meets Charlie Brown at summer camp. The following year, he would introduce Charlie Brown to his friend Peppermint Patty, whose impact on the strip would be much greater than Roy's. Roy was never a major character, not even in the year of his debut. Roy continued to appear occasionally (mostly at camp) until the mid 1970s. He made his last appearance on May 27, 1984. Some say his role as Peppermint Patty's friend was taken over by Marcie.

He is also quite stupid when it comes to love, oblivious to many of the hints he gives to many of the female characters. He is not oblivious at all to any of the hints female characters give him.
