The Trusted user rights group is a user group that grants members the "autopatrol" user right - that is, anyone in the Trusted group will have their edits automatically marked as patrolled and thus bypass the RC and NP patrol queues. Patrollers and administrators may grant/revoke Trusted rights at Special:UserRights. No reason needs to be provided when granting the Trusted group, since the conditions for granting Trusted are clear, though you may wish to provide one if revoking Trusted.

abstract
  • The Trusted user rights group is a user group that grants members the "autopatrol" user right - that is, anyone in the Trusted group will have their edits automatically marked as patrolled and thus bypass the RC and NP patrol queues. The Trusted user group can be granted and revoked by administrators and Patrollers. Administrators and Patrollers already get the "autopatrol" user right, so the Trusted user group does not need to be set on them (likewise, any user being promoted to Patroller or administrator should have the Trusted group removed, to avoid clutter),. Rollbackers do not get the "autopatrol" right automatically, on the other hand, so Rollbackers will need the Trusted group granted to them for their (non-rollback) edits to be automatically patrolled. There is no procedure for discussion or requesting the Trusted user group. Administrators and Patrollers may grant and revoke the group at their discretion. It is intended to be set on users that are known to be trusted by the community and to be experienced with wiki editing, and thus don't need to have every edit manually checked. An administrator or Patroller may set Trusted on any user they believe fits this criteria. Likewise, if an administrator or Patroller loses confidence in an editor, they may revoke the Trusted group so that the editor's edits will once again be in the RC/NP patrol queues. Patrollers and administrators may grant/revoke Trusted rights at Special:UserRights. No reason needs to be provided when granting the Trusted group, since the conditions for granting Trusted are clear, though you may wish to provide one if revoking Trusted. All users approved to use AutoWikiBrowser should have Trusted set on them, to avoid RC patrol floods. That being said, Trusted is not a substitute for Bot and should not be considered permission to make mass automated edits. Mass automated edits should still be made using a properly flagged Bot, such as User:LizardBot. Users who are members of the Trusted group have no special responsibilities beyond those of an editor normally, as the Trusted group grants no special permissions to members. Note that Trusted is not retroactive: marking a user as Trusted does not mark their previous edits as patrolled, nor does revoking Trusted from a user cause any previously patrolled edits to become marked as unpatrolled. The list of users in the Trusted group can be found here. A list of administrators and Patrollers, both of which have the "autopatrol" right like Trusted users, can be found here and here, respectively.
