The Illuminated One was the name given to the leader of the Charon Cult of Light sometime before the Battle of Endor. The Illuminated One preached that he and his kindred needed to escape the known galaxy to escape the grasp of their doom bringing brethren in the Charon Death Cult. The Illuminated One formulated a plan to ensure the survival of his kind after the Cult of Light discovered hyperdrive technology.

After gaining a number of followers, the Illuminated One preached that he and his kindred needed to flee otherspace to realspace to escape the grasp of their doom-bringing brethren in the Charon Death Cult. Under the Illuminated One’s guidance, the Cult of Light was able to create a hyperdrive that allowed them to cross the barrier that separated the two dimensions. Safe from the persecution from the rest of their kind, the Cult of Light settled on three different planets while the Illuminated One worked to comes up with ways to change the views of the rest of the Charon still in the Cult of Death. His work would be cut short when the Darksider known as Sivter came up with his own plans to use the Charon in the War of Darkness. After uncovering where each of the Cult of Light enclaves where, Sivter sent his best Dark Lords to hunt the Illuminated One’s followers down and exterminate them. Sivter himself faced off against the Illuminated One on New Holstice. However, having sensed how powerful the Illuminated One was, Sivter secretly mind twisted the Charon’s bodyguards beforehand. While the Illimunated One faced off against Sivter, the Defel commanded the Charon’s bodyguards to turn on him. The Illuminated One was taken by surprise and impaled by their weapons before being held down so Sivter could rip the knowledge of how the Cult of Light had successfully crossed over from otherspace. He then decapitated the Illuminated One, killing him and bringing about the end of the Cult of Light. Sivter used the knowledge he had stolen from the Illuminated One to perfect his otherdrive. He would then later present the head of the Illuminated One to Musa’krish, leader of the Cult of Death, to prove his claim of being the Final Prophet of the Void and assume control of the Charon species.
