| - Set in the year 2020, you start off as Cpt. Peter Daniels, an American soldier in the military. You train a new member of the team named Josh Gillian. You guide him through obstacle courses and target training. The better you teach, the more Josh will be skilled during gameplay. Next you are on a mission to interrogate a weapons cache owner in Nepal about the whereabouts of Hungarian terrorist and the game's primary antagonist, Gyorgy Lantos. The weapons cache owner is revealed to be Anatoly, a Russian terrorist who took part in the Zakhaev Airport Massacre. Knowing this, Captain Price, from the MW series, joins you in your mission. On the mission, you are with Josh, your best friend Sgt. Edward Jeremiah, Price and a woman Seargant named Emma Taylor. You fight your way through Anatoly's base until you reach Anatoly himself. After a short interrogation, Anatoly tries to kill Peter, who in return is shot by Price. Price does not take part in any more missions but acts as an informant for the rest of the game. The Olympic Games are taking place in Japan. But one of the main represetatives is assassinated by a henchman of Lantos, named Kalman Szathmar. It is revealed why this assassination took place. In 2018, the Hungarian President was taken hostage by Japanese terrorist, Hajime Yamanashi. However, the President was saved and Yamanashi escaped. Lantos was very angry with the Japanese and despised the country. A year later, Lantos found out about a massive money decrease in Hungarian banks and a massive increase in Japanese banks. Believing that the Japanese had hacked and stolen the money to host the Olympics next year, Lantos had the assassination take place, putting Japan on edge. As Peter, you are in the streets of Japan fighting Lantos' men. You are eventually captured and put on a plane for execution. However, you and your friends fight your way off the plane and skydive out, landing in Kazakhstan where you call for emergency extraction. You and your team are sent to an underground base where Lantos is believed to be hiding. You fight your way through mineshafts and ride mine carts through the shafts. It turns out that Lantos isn't there and the place is rigged to blow. You and your team manage to make it out, just as the mine explodes. Next, you need to capture Kalman Szathmar for interrogation. Szathmar states he doesn't know where Lantos is but know someone who does, Hajime Yamanashi. Szathmar soon escapes and you chase after him on a motorbike. You crash but manage to kill Szathmar. You and your team are sent to a hotel in Japan where Yamanashi is hiding. Depending on the paths chosen by the player, Josh Gillian will either be wounded by Yamanashi, forcing him to miss out future missions, or stay perfectly fine and take part in later missions. You fight through Yamanashi's forces until you find him. It turns out that Lantos is hiding in an old army base in Hungary. Yamanashi also reveals that Lantos plans to attack the Olympic Stadium but doesn't know when. But he does know where the intel with date's on it is, on a train in Siberia. You take Yamanashi with you. In Siberia, you and your team use sniper rifles to take out guards. You place various traps down like grenade strings attached to door handles. You then place charges on a bridge. When you are a distance from the bridge you blow it up and the train with the intel falls falls off the bridge and into the lake below. You and E.J. dive in to retreive the intel. However, a bomb is set to explode on the train, as the Lantos knew you were coming. With seconds to go, you and E.J. grab a CO2 tank and pull off the top, causing gas to rush out. Using the tank like a rocket, it pulls you and E.J. out of the train and across the lake, just as the bomb goes off. The intel reveals that the attack on the Stadium will take place July 31. In the old army base, you fight through Lantos' forces. You all soon come across a minefield. You all cross carefully, trying not to blow any mines. If Josh wasn't wounded in the previous mission he will die in this mission by getting blown up by a mine. During the raid, Yamanashi betrays the team and almost kills Peter, but is knocked out and sent to custody. Peter, Edward and Emma make their way to Lantos' base, only to be knocked out by Lantos himself. Tied to a chair, Lantos forces you to kill either Edward or Emma. This is where the player has to decide to kill one and spare one. Whoever they choose will die. Lantos then knocks Peter and the Edward/Emma out again and sends them back to America, to make them live to regret the death of their colleagues. 3 days later, Peter and Edward/Emma are fully recovered and travel to Japan to take out Lantos once and for all. They manage to stop Lantos from destroying Tokyo and the Stadium comes down on top of him. However, Lantos survives and prepares to initiate his attack again. Peter and Edward/Emma go after him once again. Peter finds Lantos on a rooftop. Lantos disarms Peter and the two have a fistfight. This is a unique part of the game where the player can move around and press buttons to hit. Soon, Peter overpoweres Lantos and, with a crane hook, impales Lantos in the neck, killing the madman once and for all. Peter is then escorted back to the U.S. where he and Edward/Emma receive a Medal of Honour. After the credits, Yamanashi is shown in prison where it is revealed that he DID hack the Bank of Hungary and Lantos was right all along.
