  • Firestone is a phosphine-bearing mineral that occurs naturally on Pern. Dragons and fire-lizards possess the ability to digest it in a special second stomach, and produce from it gases that ignite upon contact with oxygen. It is a crucial mineral for the weyrs in fighting Thread.

  • Built originally to construct turnpikes and interchanges during the Golden Age of Cybertron, Firestone was put into use to guard Autobot convoys down the roads she helped create when war broke out. Several reconstructions later, she still operates as point guard, barreling through the traps before they endanger her protectorate. Armed minimally, this female tower of strength relies on her heavy construction and ramplate as a '59 Caddy hovercar, or her disruptor mace in robot mode. Either way, it will take more than a few dents and scratches to get past this highly mobile bulwark.
  • The firestone was first discovered by Ayla. It's name as we know it is Iron Pyrite. While living alone in her valley Ayla's fire went out. As she was making herself some tools she was distracted and by mistake picked up a piece of iron pyrite instead of her hammer stone. When she hit the flint she was working on she was surprised to find that a spark appeared. this gave her the idea to restart her fire that way. The fire stone was why Frebec of the Lion camp of the Mamutoi allowed Ayla to join even after putting up an objection to her joining their camp.
  • The Firestone (火竜石 Karyūseki, lit. Fire Dragon Stone) is a Dragonstone that recurs across the Fire Emblem Series. Functioning as the most basic Dragonstone principally employed by units aligned to the Manakete class, the Firestone is infused with the compressed power of a Fire Dragon. When used, this stone allows a Manakete to assume the form of a Fire Dragon, granting them numerous statistical bonuses that enable them to engage in combat in the process.
  • Firestone is a phosphine bearing rock found on Pern. Dragons and fire lizards can chew it to produce phosphorous gases which are ignited to burn Thread out of the sky. There are two types of firestone, one (also known as "Flamestone") is highly unstable and will often explode on contact with water, the other is more stable, but needs some time to be digested by dragons before they go to fight thread, this is the type that was originally found in Dragonsdawn and was used in all Pern novels following Dragon's Fire in Pern's chronology.

abstract
  • The Firestone (火竜石 Karyūseki, lit. Fire Dragon Stone) is a Dragonstone that recurs across the Fire Emblem Series. Functioning as the most basic Dragonstone principally employed by units aligned to the Manakete class, the Firestone is infused with the compressed power of a Fire Dragon. When used, this stone allows a Manakete to assume the form of a Fire Dragon, granting them numerous statistical bonuses that enable them to engage in combat in the process. In Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, the only playable Manakete who can harness the energy contained within the Firestone is Bantu. The Firestone has infinite durability in this appearance. In its subsequent remakes, this lock is lifted, permitting any Manakete to employ them for combat purposes. In The Binding Blade, the Firestone is an enemy-only weapon, and cannot be obtained under ordinary circumstances. If the player succeeds in acquiring one through the method outlined below, then they will find that it can be used by Fae, although the animations involved are hilariously glitchy. Notably, in almost every game that the Firestone appears in, it is treated as a weapon. The exception to this rule is Mystery of the Emblem, where the stone is instead regarded as an item.
