The Tercel 290-class starfighter (also known as the T-290, Tercel-class interceptor, the Tercel, or just the 290) was a model of extremely fast starfighter interceptor made by Dezendyan Shipyards, a subsidiery of Dezendyan Corporation. The Tercel was based on the A-9 Vigilance interceptor made by Kuat Drive Yards. Like the A-9 the Tercel 290 also had a weak hull, as again armour was sacrificed for speed, this weak hull was improved in the Tercel 291-class starfighter, which was a bit slower then the Tercel 290, the 291 also had a shield generator.

The Tercel 290 was primarily used by the Imperial Navy of the Ingzan-Bregaran Empire and the House of Dezendyan Navy of the House of Dezendyan. They were also used by the Allied Armies Against Ingzan-Bregaran Imperialism and the N'Akkiarlian Star Navy of the N'Akkiarlian Star Empire. Imperial and Dezendyan Tercel 290s served in the Dezendyan-Vás Feud and the Rebellion against the Ingzan-Bregaran Empire, in the rebellion they fought against rebel-owned Tercel 290s. During the rebellion special red-coloured ones were flown by the elite Imperial Navy No. 34 Squadron "Blood Hawks". First Mate Grenga Uzikor: Sir, enemy starfighters inbound! I do not recognise that model, but they are super fast! Captain Huro Vás: I do, they are Tercel 290 fighters, extremely fast and very dangerous, but they have weak hulls, they are a Dezendyan-produced starfighter used primarily by the House of Dezendyan Navy and the Imperial Navy. I remember them from my days in the Imperial Navy.
