Cobden Street was the residence of in the late 1960s of Paddy Conran, an Irishman whose mother lived in Warrington and who he dutifully visited every Monday, sometimes posing as the purchaser of vehicles that he wanted to take on a test run, as Elsie Tanner found out to her cost when she tried to sell her unwanted Jaguar.
