The e-Government Academy is a non-governmental, non-profit think-tank in Estonia founded for creation and transfer of knowledge on e-governance, e-democracy and development of civil society. It was initiated by Open Society Institute (OSI), the Regional Support Centre of the United Nations Development Programme(UNDP), and the Estonian government in 2002. Its mission is to train and advise leaders and stakeholders in using information and communication technology (ICT) to increase government efficiency and to improve democratic processes with the aim of building open information societies.
