Therefore, at higher levels, Ripsaw becomes more effective, as its chance of causing Open Wounds is very high, and can be 100% when combined with other items that give the same effect. Open Wounds causes enemies to take consistent damage over a fixed amount of time, similar to Poison, only it cannot be remedied. Still, in order to propertly utilize this chance of Open Wounds, one must make sure that their Attack Rating and Dexterity are high enough; having an increased chance won't do much good if a character can't hit their enemies. Additionally, Ripsaw has a fair amount of mana leech that many physical fighters with low amounts of Energy find useful. Again, when taking mana leech into consideration, Attack Rating and Dexterity play into how many hits a character can land, and therefore how much mana can be leeched.
