| - Een Bowcaster was één van de traditionele wapens gebouwd en gebruikt door de Wookiees.
- The Bowcaster was a special weapon used mainly by the Wookiees of Kashyyyk. When the trigger is tapped just once, the bowcaster would let out a burst of powerful energy. When the trigger was held down, though, the the bowcaster would either shoot one even more powerful blast, or multiple blasts at once, depending on how long the user held the trigger. It was often used by the Wookiee hero Chewbacca. In Battlefront II a well placed shot from the Bowcaster would easily take down a MagnaGuard.
- The Bowcaster is a weapon particularly favored by Wookiees. It is a powerful, cross-bow like weapon which can fire several shots at once, or be charged to fire a single shot which usually affords the user a one-shot kill. File:Bowcaster.PNG A skilled marksman will make good use of the charge feature on the weapon. Charging the weapon fires a single, but more powerful shot. This has the potential to deliver, as a regular sniper rifle would, a killing head-shot. The weapon is also notable for having been used by the wookiee, Chewbacca.
- A curious combination of modern and ancient technologies, the bowcaster, or "laser crossbow", is the traditional weapon of Wookiees on Kashyyyk. While anachronistic to those accustomed to using blasters, a bowcaster is actually quite deadly in the hands of a skilled Wookiee warrior. At the end of the bow launch shaft is a conducting rod a foot long with a polarizer ball at either end. A scope rests atop the barrel over the trigger and elongated stock/handgrip.
- Bowcasters were wildly improbable weapons designed by Wookiees. Chewbacca carried one wherever he went. It took great strength to cock the weapon, so that only Wookiees could use it. And Kyle Katarn, of course. Essentially souped-up paintball guns, bowcasters fired heavy metal quarrels accelerated by a powerful spring, then charged the metal with some sort of vague magnetic plasma. Mounted on the tip of the barrel were two polarizing orbs on either end of a bow-shaped bar. These orbs accelerated the quarrels with magnetic fields. Fucking magnets, how do they work?!
