Were a cartographer to take his compass and inscribe a circle of the area throughout the world's northern pole, the circumference lying roughly on the northern shore of the dreaded Sea of Claws, it would serve to roughly demarcate the boundaries of the Chaos Wastes. These unholy lands are seen as a place of absolute holiness by the Norse tribes, as well as by the Kurgans and Hung. It is the dream of any man or woman of those races to one day journey here, overcoming the challenges and indescribable horrors it has to offer, and thus ultimately submit themselves to the judgement of their Dark Gods, ascending to the vaunted ranks of the Champions of Chaos.

- The Chaos Wastes are amorphous areas surrounding the Old Slann's warp gates - strange areas where the laws of nature and magic have little meaning. There are the lands where Warriors Of Chaos, Beastmen, and other strange creatures hold sway and where the mutating influence of the Warpstone may produce all manner of hideous new monsters. It is in these areas that the Incursions of Chaos have their origins and, every now and again, the servants of Chaos sweep down over adjacent territories, corrupting and altering all they touch.
