In 1943, Edmonds was stationed in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, pretending to be a sisal buyer. Marie Arnoux was aware of his true identity. When Indiana Jones and George McHale arrived in the city, looking for a guide to lead them to Zile Muri-yo, Jones spotted Edmonds, wearing a Panama hat, near a shoeshine stand in front of a hotel, and decided not to make contact with him, as he and McHale had their own mission, outside of their intelligence duties.
