  • The Console is a text-interface to change or debug some internal details of the running game. You bring it up with the ' key if you have a US keyboard. See bottom for other keys. Once the console is up you still have to click on the text line entry to enter a command. Commands are case sensitive. As you enter the list of valid commands is shown and you can use the arrow key to select one. Any text output is shown in the console window. Some commands will subtly or drastically alter the appearence or function of the game. Command_reference - Full command dump from game engine in supcom 2
  • There are CryEngine console commands, and there are variables. The variables are associated with a value. The commands are actions. The variables accessed from the console are called CVars. * quit This is an example of a command that is not associated with a value. * cl_fov This is an example of a command that is associated with a value. If no parameter is given, it will just output the current value. * cl_fov 80 By providing a parameter after the command, you set the value.

  • Lists of console commands. Please use with caution as some of these can mess up quest progression! It does not matter if you use capitalized or small letters when writing in the code in the console. Fixing the display count: ☀To reset the count: Just console GETGLOBALVALUE DBM_DISPLAYMAX then you can set the count to what you think is more accurate if it seems way off by SET DBM_DISPLAYMAX TO # If the explorers are attacking you and/or you are "trespassing" in the guildhouse: ☀player.addfac xx34d50e 1 (where xx is the position of Legacy in your load order)
  • Here are listed some frequently used console commands. For general instructions on using console commands see Debug mode.
  • In the game files of BioShock and BioShock 2 on the PC there is a file named "User.ini", and for BioShock 2 Multiplayer there is a similar file named "UserMP.ini". These files contain the key bindings and user interface settings of the game. Most key bindings can be altered simply by customizing controls in-game, but for more advanced bindings the file itself may be edited using any common text editor.

These files contain the key bindings and user interface settings of the game. Most key bindings can be altered simply by customizing controls in-game, but for more advanced bindings the file itself may be edited using any common text editor. It is important to remember that any changes made to User.ini may be replaced with the default if the game crashes or if the player exits it abnormally (i.e. shutting it down with task manager.) The default settings are stored in another text file, "DefUser.ini". If the player wishes to avoid resetting the User.ini multiple times, they can edit DefUser.ini, but this is not recommended because it means permanently losing the default settings. These .ini files can be edited with any common text-editor program such as Notepad, but since the list of contexts in the file is extremely long it is easiest to use a more functional program that shows line numbers and can collapse sections under headings. Either see Wikipedia's list of text editors for function comparisons or simply download something like Notepad++ or Wordpad.
