Moulage (french: casting/moulding) is the art of applying mock injuries for the purpose of training Emergency Response Teams and other medical and military personnel. The term also refers to a wax or seaweed based gelatinous product that is occasionally used in three dimensional makeup as well as in lifecasting. The product must be heated above body temperature to be pliable. Unlike casting silicone or alginate, moulage is reusable. It is also known as formalose.
