Private First Class M. Veroni was a trooper of GFMC Task Force Herakles, and was assigned to Force Two, which was stationed to guard and repair their warship, the GFS Tyr. Veroni was very concerned as to the deteriorating mental condition of fellow trooper G. Haley. He discussed Haley's condition with a male doctor (either PFC X. Dominguez or LCDR T. Huxley, the medical officer), but was told there was nothing to be done. It is unknown whether Veroni's fears ever came to light or not.

| - I think Haley's losing it. He talks to himself all the time, and he won't sleep. He almost shot me on watch the other night. I think he thought I was one of those things. I talked to the doc about taking him off the line, and he told me we need all the help we can get. That's true, but if he goes berserk and kills a bunch of us, that won't be very helpful.

Unlike many of the other marines, Veroni was killed accidentally when a tunnel collapsed (in an area identified in the map as Collapsed Tunnel), releasing hundreds of pounds of boulders on him. It seemed most damage was received in his legs, as most of the rest of Veroni's body was free. It is possible that he bled to death due to lack of immediate medical attention. It is unknown why exactly the tunnel had collapsed upon Veroni, although it is a decent possibility that the rocks had become compromised by local burrowers such as the Splinters.
