| - Aquila Corcer (/ˈæk.wɪlˌə ˈkɔr.sɜr/) was a Centurion of the Order of the Golden Empire, and one of the first Force-sensitive disciples of the Golden Empire's queen, Rin Sakaros, after the foundation of the Empire. Recruited on Zorabos in 88 ABY, the sixteen-year-old Corcer proved an adept pupil, particularly good at using the Force for acrobatics and complementing his supernatural agility with his wings and physical fitness. He learned Basic and Sith to a conversational level by the time he became the Order's second full Centurion (after Keltrayu) in 100 ABY, just before the beginning of the Great Liberation. He chose to specialize in Ataru to complement his natural agility and strength. Being one of the first Novices and the oldest by far, he took on a "big brother" role with younger Novices admitted to the Order after himself. Serving as a battlefield commander, he participated in several engagements, including the Battle of Tizgo V, where Keltrayu sacrificed himself to save Rin and left Corcer as the senior Centurion of the Order. Corcer assassinated Pexereca Tainer and several corporate executives of the Hudrel Robotics and Android Corporation on Hudrel after the Capture of the Vall`to sector. After the war, it was Corcer who first suggested to Rin that she rename the Order for Keltrayu, which she did very shortly thereafter. Corcer continued to serve through the years following the Great Liberation, often tasked with law enforcement stings and apprehensions. He also served as the first Praetor-Instructor for the Order, teaching the use of telekinesis and Force acrobatics to the Order's Novices. As not only the only Centurion immediately following Keltrayu's death, but also a capable and talented warrior in his own right, he was the first person to be given the informal designation of "First Centurion", the member of the Order whom other Centurions held to be their primus inter pares. His final assignment was the apprehension of the slaver and Red Eclipse leader Zhin-Vel. Acting on a tip, Corcer and his fellow Centurion Melnanooin traced the Zyked criminal to a docking bay on Synno. Zhin-Vel and his four battle droids started a firefight in the midst of a suddenly panicked crowd of civilians. Surrounding by innocents, Corcer could not put the broad, sweeping slashes of Ataru to their best use, nor could he fly or use Force acrobatics with the low ceilings. Zhin-Vel rolled a grenade at the pair of Centurions, and though Corcer's danger sense warned him, he could only leap so far away, and the blast injured him badly, knocked his lightsaber from his hand, and sent him back to the floor. Half-conscious, Corcer could only watch helplessly as Melnanooin was cut down in a hail of gunfire. He attempted to pull his lightsaber back to his hand, and it was within a meter of his grip when Zhin-Vel saw what he was doing and stepped down on the hilt. The Zyked killed Corcer with a point-blank blaster shot to the face, then shot him twice more in the chest for good measure.
