Among his better-known works are bridges in Warsaw (commonly known as the Kierbedź Bridge; 1859-1864), the Blagoveshchensky Bridge of St. Petersburg (the first bridge over Neva; 1842-1850), and the St. Stanislav's Church in St. Petersburg. Kierbedź was also the deputy director of the Saint Petersburg – Warsaw Railway, he also co-authored the design of the railway linking the Russian capital of Petersburg with imperial palaces in Krasnoye Selo and Petergof. In 1891 he retired and settled permanently in Warsaw, where he died on April 19, 1899. He is buried in the Powązki Cemetery.
