  • The Pleistocene, or the Pleistocene epoch (derived from the Greek words Pleistos - most numerous and Kainos - new), also known as The Ice Age, is the first epoch of the Anthropogene or the last epoch of the Neogene (opinions vary). It is chronologically located between the Pliocene Epoch and the Holocene. It began roughly 1.8 MYA and ended about 10,000 years ago, so it lasted for about 1.8 million years.
  • On April 15, 1986, Marcus Irving travels to January 8, 19654 B.C. in his Yugo time machine, temporarily stranding Marty McFly and Doc Brown. They managed to escape sabre-tooth tigers shortly before Irving returned to bring them forward to 1997, as he was afraid of the butterfly effect their presence could cause that far in the past.
  • The Pleistocene is the epoch from 1.8 million to 10,000 years BP covering the world's recent period of repeated glaciations. The name pleistocene is derived from the Greek πλεῖστος (pleistos "most") and καινός (kainos "new"). The Pleistocene epoch follows the Pliocene epoch and is followed by the Holocene epoch. The Pleistocene is the third epoch of the Neogene period or 6th epoch of the Cenozoic Era. The end of the Pleistocene corresponds with the retreat of the last continental glacier. It also corresponds with the end of the Paleolithic age used in archaeology.
  • The Pleistocene epoch on the geologic timescale is the period from 1,808,000 to 11,550 years BP (Before Present). The name pleistocene is derived from the Greek πλεῖστος (pleistos "most") and καινός (kainos "new"). The Pleistocene follows the Pliocene epoch and is followed by the Holocene epoch. On May 2, 1991, Biff Tannen stole a DeLorean time machine from the Institute of Future Technology and traveled into the future to October 25, 2015. Doc Brown used a sub-ether time-tracking scanner which allowed him to pilot an 8-passenger DeLorean time machine full of time travel volunteers to bump Biff's DeLorean to bring him back. However, Biff avoided them by traveling to October 25, 1000000 B.C., followed by October 25, 64000000 B.C., before he was finally brought back to 1991.
