The Emperor/Empress of Sekowo is the reigning monarch of Sekowo and the head of state. The first monarch to rule over the entire Sekowan territory was Pacal the Great, who established the Tsekwon Empire. He and his heirs would use the title of "King/Queen of Sekowo" until the empire's demise. The title of King of Sekowo was adopted again in 1616. Before 1616, Sekowo was considered a province of the Empire of Gao-Soto until it fell in 1560. Historians split the monarchy between two eras the Ancient era and the Modern era. The role of the monarch of Sekowo has historically alternated between a ceremonial and symbolic role and that of an actual absolute ruler.
