Timed Dynamite is used as a pick-up item. Once Kirby picks up a Timed Dynamite, the clock shown on it will slowly begin to tick down. Once the clock makes one cycle, the dynamite will explode, annihilating enemies or blocks that happen to be nearby. This item will seriously hurt Kirby if the pink puff gets caught in the blast. When hit, Action Stars will occasionally drop three Timed Dynamites onto the stage.

Timed Dynamite also appears as an item in the Kirby Fighters sub-game as well as in its remake, Kirby Fighters Deluxe. When the item detonates, it creates several massive explosions lasting a few seconds each. Kirbys caught in the explosions will take a great deal of damage and be unable to escape until the bomb is finished. When hit, Action Stars will occasionally drop three Timed Dynamites onto the stage.
