FNN was a division of cable network CNN for three years before dividing and becoming its own government funded public news network. FNN has since retained its FNN logo, which mimics the CNN logo word font. FNN is notable for its advantage in gaining access to government and political events, interviews with government officials, both foreign and domestic and exclusive stories and inside stories of events and incidents. FNN often cooperates with CNN in reporting or investigating news, more often in international situations abroad. FNN news reporters often have access to military installations, Air Force One and naval vessels. The President of the Union of Everett also often makes a monthly interview on FNN with news anchors and weekly radio shows on FNN satellite radio stations. Both FNN and CNN work together to fund or host political events such as debates and interviews, especially during elections and campaigns. FNN also commonly covers political rallies, protests, riots and other events.
