A number of men were paid for their silence when it became known to the King that Ulysses had...enjoyed time...with their wives. Ulysses enjoyed a plethora of women hanging off his every whim but wanted nothing that he could have easliy. This attitude bled over into every area in his life. He craved challenge. Sneaking out at night to wrestle, and duel the palace guards while icognito became a regular event, and he quickly became their champion under the name, Dastan. Whilst on one of his many excursions to the palace barracks, the prince over heard a few guards talking of a plot they knew to be brewing in which the King and all his family would be discredited, accused of treason, and executed. One of the senior advisors in the court, Mazr Altari, was the key conspiritor and the one planning on taking the throne. Knowing he had to warn his father of this, Ulysses made the mistake of making too much noise as he ran across the court to his fathers chambers. He was caught. The guards that were with Altari took the prince to the room of one of the men that had recently had his wife fall prey to the wiles of Ulysses. The guards killed the man in his sleep, planted the knife in the princes hand, and then knocked him out. More, unsuspecting guards were called in, and Ulysses was arrested for murder. Instead of the death penalty, King Galfridian was merciful, much to the distaste of Altari, and only exiled Ulysses. For the young man, it was as good as death, until he decided that he would do whatever it took to ensure that his family did not succumb to the plot, and that he would get his...lifestyle back.
