Conan and Belit return to The Tigress after the events of the previous issue but find it has been taken over by Kawaku and a few mutineers, with the loyal crewmembers imprisoned. Conan and Belit fight back but are soon captured themselves and in order to save Belit's life, Conan agrees to lead the mutineers to Belit's hidden treasure horde, over the objections of Belit. Conan leads Kawaku and his men to a jungle island and into a frightening temple. At the location of the treasure, a giant pit, Kawaku, believing he can only trust himself, climbs down on a rope but his journey is cut short by screams and a hideous frog creature climbs out to attack the men.
