Wishing is one of the most powerful features in ADOM. When you receive a wish, you can ask for (almost) any item, skill, monster, or stat. However, they are extremely rare and it is quite possible to go an entire game without getting one.

  • Gender An Ai's Gender is random 50/50 chance of getting male or female no matter what the parents gender is. Wishes can be rather spontaneous and random after all. Wishtype An Ai will be the same wishtype as it's ParentA, or as it's ParentB. Some wishtypes are rarer than others, and below is a list of the most common type to the rarest: Wish of Innocence Wish for Prosperity Wish Upon A Star Broken Dream Heartfelt Hope Solemn Vow Demonic Curse Angelic Prayer Markings By default, all Ai's have all of the markings, however, they have a controlling percentage that determines if the marking shows visibly or not. Markings are picked on a 100-point scale... a number is randomly picked between Parent A and Parent B's percentages, and that number determines how well an Ai's markings show. So an Ai with one parent that has no Valentine marking, and a parent that has a 20% Valentine, can have a marking anywhere between 0 and 20. There is also a chance for Ai's to mutate. If an ai has parents without any Valentine marking at all, it is possible for that ai to be born with a Valentine marking between 1-100 on a very very VERY small chance. And the opposite is true.. an Ai with two parents, both with 100% in Valentine, may mysteriously be born without any Valentine at all on a very very VERY small chance. These kind of mutations will not be common, but they are built in so that family lineage's may, over time, evolve. Skin Skin, like wishtype, is a 50/50 chance of getting ParentA or ParentB's skin tone. There is no compromise. Tails, ears, and wings Mutations such as tails, ears, and wings of various types, are also chosen on a 50/50 basis. But, like Markings, there is a slight chance of mutation where a child may be born with a completely new mutation (or lack thereof in the case of wings) on a very very VERY small chance. Color Colors on an ai (fur, horn and hoof color, hair color etc) are chosen by picking a random color in the range between the two parent's colors. We also added a bit of a buffer on either side of the color ranges so it's possible for colors to mutate over time (but the mutation will be very subtle) so an Ai with one parent with blue hair, and another parent with red hair, may come out with blue hair, red hair, or any color in between the two... and maybe even with a bit of a different colored tint (such as green, or orange), though such mutations will be uncommon. In this way, WoA is very different from most breedable sites where the child's color is an average of the two parents with a little bit of leeway for a color shift.. it is just as likely for an Ai to be born with vivid colors as it is for them to be born with muddy colors. Eye Color Most Ai's will have one eye color for both eyes.. but there is a small mutation chance that ai's can be born with Oci.. or one eye that's red, and one that's green for example. If two Ai's with Oci wish together, the offspring will most likely have the same mutation, but there is a very very very small chance that they may revert back to one eye color. Parents where one has Oci and the other doesn't, have a 50/50 chance of having a child with oci as well. When it comes to eye colors, this is where it gets kinda complicated.. if a child has "Oci", the eye colors will be chosen separately, left eye then right eye, mixing the color of each parent's eye with the other... example: Parent A has L-blue R-green, Parent B has L-yellow R-Pink, the child could have L-blue, yellow, or some shade in between.. and R-green, pink, or some shade in between If the child does NOT have Oci, then it's eye color is chosen by comparing the parent's LEFT eye only.. so using the parents above, the child would have blue, yellow, or green eyes. ai's are generally left-eye dependent

Wait a year without receiving any additional fountain wishes and and the chance of a wish improves to 1 in 2; another year and it is 1 in 1, or 100% chance of a wish prompt. You may also be granted a wish through magical means, most commonly through finding a rod of wishing. It is also possible, although rare, to acquire the Wish spell directly through spellbooks of wish, dreams, or scrolls of wonder; however, it is the most difficult spell in the game to learn from a spellbook and to cast.
