The Roadless Ploughmaster 6/4 was launched by Roadless Traction Ltd at the Smithfield Show in 1962 ready for the 1963 season. The 6/4 was based on the Fordson E1A Major Skid unit. The tractor was rated at hp (kW) from the 6-cylinder Ford 290E engine and cost £1,785 new. About 200 were built from 1962 to October 1964. The model was replaced in December 1964 with the Ploughmaster 65, based on the new Ford 5000 (6X Pre-force model). A 2-wd version was built for export only as the Roadless Ploughmaster 6/2.
