He played junior hockey for the Toronto Marlboros from 1960 to 1964, and was the captain of the team that won the 1964 Memorial Cup. He played 3 games for the Sudbury Wolves of the Eastern Professional Hockey League in 1961-62. Rather than pursue a professional career, Moore decided to go on to law school. He played for Canada at the 1965 World Championship, winning a bronze medal, and then played senior hockey. He won the Allan Cup in 1973 with the Orillia Terriers. He retired from hockey in 1975.
