Vitamin E is a micronutrient that is involved in preventing tissue damage from oxidation, assisting muscle growth and preventing clotting. It is commonly found in many vegetable oils. It is required in very low quantities, about 15mg per day for adults and, because it is fat soluble, is stored in the body's fat cells. High doses of vitamin E are dangerous as the vitamin can act as an anti-coagulant and can lead to Vitamin K deficiency.
