Alts are usually purchased for Command Points File:Command point icon.png or given as part of Marvel XP Rewards however; since the release of Season 2 you can obtain a hero's alt for free via the completion of tasks though you don't have to own the character the alternates are for; the icon for this is different from the original indication and looks like File:Alternate Uniform Icon 2.png. They can usually be acquired in the hero's original Class or a different class, though these Alts will usually cost more than the original with an exception. A hero must first be recruited with the default uniform before obtaining an alternate uniform with the exception of season 2 rewards alts. Alts are equipped in the Team menu, and each has their own unique set of Isotope-8 slots, similar to an Agent's uniforms. As of March 13, 2015 Patch Notes, some heroes with alternate uniform, alternate uniform names are used as a hero name (e.g. Beast - Modern Beast, Horseman of Pestilence - Horseman of Pestilence), thus affects the filler. There are currently 85 released Unique Alternate Uniforms, 163 if counting their second Class counterparts. Certain Alternate Uniforms have been released as a set.
