Force speed was a power that a Jedi or Sith uses to increase his/her physical and mental speed. It generally had a short effectiveness, but could be lethal to an opponent if the user is fighting at the time. In games it can be used to speed through quickly-closing doors/windows or to simply increase the player's reaction time during a fight, as everything slows down around you.

- Syntax: none. The effects of the Jedi power to move with preternatural speed are such that you cannot access them at will. Only in moments of great need and inner calm (or turmoil, should you call upon the Dark Side) can Force Speed be most effective. The higher your level in the Force Speed trait, the more often you will notice its effects.

- Force speed was the Jedi ability to tap into the cosmic "speed force" in order to run, leap, fight, eat, read, go to the bathroom, or surf the net at freakish, superhuman speeds. Jedi did not refer to this ability as entering "bullet time" because they could already dodge bullets without the speed boost. Other users of Force speed included Darth Revan, Mace Windu, Luke Skywalker, Kyle Katarn, and Jacen Solo. Kyle Katarn once used it to rescue dozens of passengers from a bus armed with a bomb that would explode if it ever dropped below 50 miles an hour.
- Force speed, also known as burst of speed or Force sprint, was a core Force power that allowed the user to maintain sprinting speeds for a brief time. Greater aptitude granted greater boosts to speed and/or greater duration. The increased speed of the Force-user enabled the individual to see the world and the entities around them in slow motion, allowing them to dodge attacks easily and attack more quickly with greater accuracy.

Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn used Force speed to escape the droidekas of the Trade Federation... then later Obi-Wan forgot he could use Force speed and sprint through the rapidly closing force fields on Naboo, resulting in Qui-Gon's death at the hands of Darth Maul. Eh. Live and learn. One time I forgot my keys. Han Solo also claimed to be proficient in the use of Force speed... but it turned out later he was just addicted to amphetamines.

Only in moments of great need and inner calm (or turmoil, should you call upon the Dark Side) can Force Speed be most effective. The technique was commonly used by many Force-users throughout history, including Jedi, Sith, and the Matukai order, an organization of Force adepts who used the physical body to channel the Force. During the Clone Wars, many Jedi used the ability to great effect on the battlefields. It was also commonly used to increase speed during lightsaber duels as well as in unarmed combat. According to Jedi Master Tionne Solusar's tome regarding the Force, there was a drawback to using this power; using Force speed had a draining effect on a Force-user's energy and metabolism, and required a longer recovery period.
