| - Capture The Flag in Quake is like Capture The Flag in real life or in any game. There are two ends of the map, one with each flag and occupied by each team, the player must get to the other side and take the other flag back to their side. If killed, the flag will be dropped and returned to the other side if walked into. Both sides are often identical being changed only in colour, to make sure players don't get lost. Quake 3 Team Arena brought certain roles into CTF, being "Ammo Regen", "Scout", "Doubler" and "Guard". Ammo Regen is self - explanatory while the others need to be explained ever so slightly. Doubler doubles all of the player's damage, Guard gives the player a starting 200hp and has regenerative capabilities. It regenerates around 17hp per second. Finally, Scout has the exact same effect as Haste: the player's movement speed and firing speed are increased. The original Quake 3 Arena presented the player with 5 maps; one being an adaptation of Q3tourney6: The Very End Of You, and the other being an adaptation of Brimstone Abbey. While Team Arena presented the player with 5 or 6 times as much maps.
