She was married to writer Howard Ostroff from 1958 through 1987, a union that produced two daughters, Lauren and Dana. Maggie Ostroff worked as an assistant manager at the World Trade Center for eleven years. She began her career in sound and film editing in 1982. One of her earliest films was the 1985 comedy Cavegirl. In addition to being the film's assistant editor, Ostroff also appeared as the mother of the lead character, played by TNG guest actor Daniel Roebuck.
