He played junior hockey in the Thunder Bay area, including the Port Arthur Marrs in the 1966-67 Memorial Cup Final. In 1967-68 Adduono turned pro with the Syracuse Blazers of the Eastern Hockey League, a team that he would spend virtually all his time with well into the 1973-74 season. He won the league scoring title three times - 1969-70, 1971-72, and 1972-73. His best season was 1971-72 when he scored 43 goals and 122 assists. In his WHA career, Adduono scored 42 goals and 152 assists in 221 games.
