- His career began as a television stunt double in 1965, for Lost in Space, and in 1968 he began playing extra characters on Star Trek and other series, eventually by the 1970s playing characters with more substantial parts in series like Battlestar Galactica. In 1982 he played the comic book character "Swamp Thing" in a film based on the DC Comics series (written by Len Wein) of the same name. Some of his other films include The Enforcer (1976, with Michael Cavanaugh and John Crawford), The Nude Bomb (1980, with Norman Lloyd), Coast to Coast (1980, with William Lucking and Karen Montgomery), Any Which Way You Can (1980, with Michael Cavanaugh, George Murdock, Logan Ramsey, and Roy Jenson), Silverado (1985), Raw Deal (1986), Stand By Me (1986, with Wil Wheaton), Blind Date (1987, with John Larroquette and Armin Shimerman), Delirious (1991, with Zach Grenier and Charles Rocket), Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995), and The Hunted (1997). Durock was remembered in the "In Memoriam" section at the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on 23 January 2010 .
