In the ancient times, Passaj was the home of the Exathi blacksmiths, who along with the Exathi stonemasons of Ayuthay, earned the respect of the world and the Adepts, or Jenei as they were known then. Together, these three groups constructed the Alchemy Well, Alchemy Forge, and all of the other tools and machines used through out the El-Jei region and the world. They too, along with the Neox (whom the Jenei were most closely connected to) faded when the seal on Alchemy was enacted. However, they managed to survive, but much of their former glory and genius was lost as their machines lost power.

abstract
| - In the ancient times, Passaj was the home of the Exathi blacksmiths, who along with the Exathi stonemasons of Ayuthay, earned the respect of the world and the Adepts, or Jenei as they were known then. Through the ages, Passaj kept up friendly relations with Ayuthay, two members of their cities even forming a close friendship (Amiti and Baghi). When the Alchemy Well was restarted, the people of Passaj hoped their forge would soon be restored to, but it remained cold and dark. One of the objectives in the game is to restart Forge in order to create a 'passage' across the mountains and Craggy Peak. It is said that the ancients used the forge like this, thus giving the name 'Passaj' to the town.
