| - Tindersticks is a British pop group, which was founded in 1992. Characteristic of the music of the band are the literary, often mumbling nominated texts and the melancholy musical setting. Most of the numbers is written in a 3. On albums by the band is doing a large number of musicians, but the core of the group currently consists of Stuart Staples (vocals), keyboardist David Boulter, and guitarist Neil Fraser. The regular guest musicians are Mark Colwill bassist and drummer Al Macaulay. The first, self-titled, album from 1993 was received with very positive reviews and in the long run by the music magazine Melody Maker elected album of the year. For the second album was among other things worked with Carla Torgerson of the Walkabouts. Just like the predecessor got the album no title with it, and just like the predecessor again reviews were wildly enthusiastic. The album took many a music journalist in his polls. In 1996 the band provided the music for Claire Denis' film Nenette et Boni. The soundtrack consisted of old and new material. A year later followed Leaving Songs. In april 2007, the BBC Sessions cd released by the band, live versions have been collected over the years in the radio studios of the BBC . On april 28, 2008 The Hungry Sawalbum appeared, which among other things drummer Thomas Belhom as guest musician can be heard.
