The regular guest musicians are Mark Colwill bassist and drummer Al Macaulay. The first, self-titled, album from 1993 was received with very positive reviews and in the long run by the music magazine Melody Maker elected album of the year. For the second album was among other things worked with Carla Torgerson of the Walkabouts. Just like the predecessor got the album no title with it, and just like the predecessor again reviews were wildly enthusiastic. The album took many a music journalist in his polls. In 1996 the band provided the music for Claire Denis' film Nenette et Boni. The soundtrack consisted of old and new material. Also, the band released the single A Marriage Made In Heaven froma duet with actress Isabella Rossellini. Critics who blamed the band convertible to deliver plates were gagged with Simple Pleasure (1999). The successor of a drastic musical change of course let Curtains .The Moody strings gave way to a more accessible soul sound. This warmer musical accompaniment is also on record as Can Our Love ... (2001) and Waiting For The Moon (2003). In 2005, under the name Working For The Man released a compilation album. Of singer Staples appeared also in 2005 the solo album, Lucky Dog Recordings 03-04. A year later followed Leaving Songs. In april 2007, the BBC Sessions cd released by the band, live versions have been collected over the years in the radio studios of the BBC . On april 28, 2008 The Hungry Sawalbum appeared, which among other things drummer Thomas Belhom as guest musician can be heard. Tindersticks still exists from three members: Staples, Boulter and Fraser. At the beginning of 2010, the album released and Falling down a mountain in 2012 appeared The something rain.
