The 1991-92 season was Liverpool's 100th season of football since they were established. Liverpool failed to continue their hot streak in the league, finishing in sixth place - their lowest finish since the 1964-65 season. However, the FA Cup provided yet another trophy, when they beat Sunderland 2-0 in the final. Dean Saunders' impressive tally of nine goals in 5 games in the UEFA Cup propelled them to the quarter-final of the competition.
